Tulsa Police officers and young anglers came together over the weekend for a community-focused fishing event at Mohawk Park.

Building community, one cast at a time

Officers took part in the “Keepin’ It Reel” Fishing Derby on Saturday, hosted by Habitat for Humanity. The event gave kids a chance to learn more about local law enforcement in a relaxed and fun setting.

Fishing, fun and friendly faces

Children spent the day casting lines, reeling in fish, and chatting with officers from the Tulsa Police Department. The goal, organizers said, was to create positive connections between police and the community.

Photos shared by Tulsa Police showed smiles all around during the outdoor gathering.

A day to remember

The department thanked everyone who took part and helped make the event a success. In a Facebook post, officers said, “A fun time was had by all — special thanks to everyone who came out!”
