A crash on the eastbound side of Interstate 44 at South Garnett Road in Tulsa has caused a light pole to fall into the westbound lanes, prompting a major traffic disruption Sunday afternoon.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says the westbound lanes were closed at 12:06 p.m. as troopers responded to the scene.

Emergency crews are currently on-site, working to remove the pole and assess the situation. Drivers in the area should expect delays and are urged to avoid the area if possible.

There is no word yet on injuries or how long the westbound lanes will remain closed. Officials have not provided an estimated reopening time.
