An Oklahoma Highway Patrol Trooper is in jail on a rape charge.

Documents allege the rape happened after a traffic stop for an expired tag on Jan. 26 2025, near Southeast 29th Street and High.

According to documents, Evans' in-car video shows the victim standing in front of the patrol car while he did a search in her pockets. Evans had the victim sit in the patrol car, where she made a few phone calls letting people know she had been pulled over. Documents say that after about 18 minutes, Evans turned his camera off. Documents also say Evans found a sex toy in the victim's purse and asked her inappropriate questions related to the toy.

According to documents, Evans told the victim she could either go down the street with him, near Southeast 31st Street and High, in exchange for avoiding going to jail. Documents say that's when the alleged rape happened.

According to documents, a review of multiple surveillance videos confirms the movements described.

Evans was booked into the Oklahoma County Jail on a $100,000 bond and is on administrative leave.

The Oklahoma County District Attorney's Office says first-degree rape and forcible oral sodomy charges will be filed against Evans.

OHP says Evans was hired on July 31, 2023.

In a statement, OHP said,

"Troopers with the OHP Investigations Unit arrested Jarquez Evans on Friday, March 28. Evans is currently on administrative leave."
