Multiple Grass Fires Threaten Homes In West & Southwest Oklahoma

Crews are battling grass fires around the state.

In Elk City, firefighters are battling a very large grass fire south of the city. 

The fire has traveled more than five miles and is moving rapidly. 

Beckham County Sheriff’s deputies have evacuated multiple homes in the area. 

I Elgin, crews are evacuating the Shadow Ridge Estates.

Those affected by the evacuation order can shelter at Watchetaker Hall, 584 NW Bingo Rd. Red Cross will be on location
