People lined the streets of Nowata Friday night, as the body of a soldier was brought home.
Sergeant Joseph Braig died in an accident earlier this month while off-post. His remains were flown into Tulsa Friday, then a procession took them through his hometown of Nowata, before heading to the funeral home in Bartlesville.
Crowds of people came out to pay their respects.
"Somebody who lit up a room whenever you needed him to. Had a great sense of humor,” Will Maddux said. “It's really cool to see Nowata get together, pass out flags to the kids, and honor him like he should be honored."
Sgt. Braig was 29 years old.
