Fire Destroys Home In NW Oklahoma City

A home in NW Oklahoma City sustained heavy damage from a fire Saturday evening.

The home near Hefner and Council caught fire and OKC firefighters said flames were shooting from the roof.

The resident was able to escape, but a dog died in the fire.

"When crews arrived on scene, they were faced with a large amount of fire coming from the front of the house," said Major Jerod Goodwin with OKC Fire.

Investigators believe it ignited in the home's garage.
