Crews are still working to put out the hot spots of a large business fire that took place Tuesday evening in downtown Oklahoma City.

One woman was rescued from this massive commercial fire just moments before flames engulfed the building.

She was sticking her head out of the window that had some bars on it in an effort to breathe. Firefighters broke those bars to get her out.

the victim was taken to a local hospital in an unknown condition to be evaluated.

The department says more than 75 firefighters were on the scene.

This was just before 6:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Investigators have not yet determined a cause for the fire.

News 9 spoke with the man who rents this building, Rick Lippert, and he says it was used by a local theatre company to store costumes

“Carpenter square supplies the props costume and furniture pieces to other theatre companies around the metro. It is going to be a big loss to the entire theatre community,” says Lippert.

He says they will likely now start a GoFundMe to raise money to buy costumes to replace the ones lost.

“We have no idea how many blouses and suits and pairs of shoes and lamps and chairs and sofas. I mean there is no way of knowing how much of that stuff was in there. And I mean it's all gone now,” he says.

Though it is not expensive stuff, it takes time and resources to accumulate all those props.

“I mean we buy everything at yard sales and thrift shops, so it is not like anything is brand new but now we have nothing, and we have a show in a couple of weeks. I don’t even know if the furniture that they are using for that set is in the theater yet,” Lipper says.

Like they say in show business, despite having suffered a great loss, the show must go on.

"There is a good news aspect in this because we will be rising from the ashes in the new venue but later this year," he says.
