What's In The American Rescue Package?

House members in Washington debated the final contents of President Joe Biden's American Rescue Package before it passed the measure on Wednesday afternoon.

The almost $2 trillion bill will be soon signed into law.

Here is what's in it:

1. There will be a $1,400 stimulus check for about 90% of American households.
2. It maintains the extra $300 in unemployment assistance.
3. The bill would expand the child tax credit worth up to $3,600 per child.
4. This would also send $350 billion in state and local aid.
5. Lastly, it would provide $14 billion to help states with vaccine distribution.

But this bill comes with controversy having no support from Republicans.

Oklahoma leaders say there is more to this bill than helping with the pandemic.

"I'm not critical for my friends for doing this, but let's call it what it is. The deeply partisan bill," said Congressman Tom Cole. 

The passage of this bill would mark the first achievement for the new administration and congress now under full Democratic control.
