A longtime downtown Edmond bank is offering Oklahoma entrepreneurs a prime retail location at a bargain price.
Through its program R.I.S.E. (Retail Incubator for the Shopkeeper Experience), Citizens Bank of Edmond is offering a store front attached to its building at 1st and Broadway.
Every three months, a new business will move into the location for a fee of $50 a month.
“I can see anything from someone who has clothing and apparel and accessories to someone who makes candles and sells products for the home,” said Josh Pape, Citizens Bank of Edmond executive vice president.
The space is 250 square feet and faces Broadway.
Selected businesses will be able to hang a sign out front, put product in the window, on the sidewalk, and even out in the streatery area along Broadway.
Every three months, a new business will move into the space.
“Maybe they’ve got a location somewhere else in the city and they want to test out the Edmond market. Maybe they are in the another city in Oklahoma and want to test out of the Edmond, Oklahoma City metro market," Pape said.
News 9 was told 10 businesses have already applied.
Applications are being accepted through October 30, with the first business setting up shop starting in mid-November.
“Our hope is that they outgrow us in a really short amount of time,” said Pape.
