A major renovation project is currently underway at Woodward Park in Tulsa.

According to the Tulsa Parks Department, crews will enhance the park by improving walking paths, expanding landscaping, and rebuilding four ponds with upgraded pump systems. Additional upgrades include new irrigation and drainage systems.

The $6.77 million project is being funded through the Improve Our Tulsa sales tax package.

During construction, the 21st Street entrance to the park will be closed to the public. The parks department expects the renovation to be completed in about a year.

The city says visitors can use the entrances on Peoria Avenue and Rockford Avenue.
