Moore Police said Erika Lott and her 12-year-old son, Rivers Bond, are the two people who were swept away and died in dangerous floodwaters in Moore Saturday night.

A night of severe weather in Moore turned deadly after a car crash led to 2 people being swept away in rising floodwaters near Southeast 12th Street and Eastern Avenue in Moore, police confirmed early Sunday morning.

Authorities say the crash happened around 9 p.m. on Saturday. One of the vehicles involved was pushed under a bridge by the force of the water. First responders searched through the night and recovered the bodies of a woman and a 12-year-old boy.
Officials report that all occupants of the second car involved in the crash were rescued. One person was taken to a local hospital for treatment.
Several vehicles stalled in high waters just blocks away. Video from the scene shows a person climbing out of a stranded car while standing in waist-deep water.
Police said water levels have receded overnight but are urging drivers to remain alert. Debris from the flooding remains on roadways and could pose serious hazards during the morning commute.
Drivers are advised to avoid flooded areas and never to attempt to drive through standing water.
