A Tulsa state senator wants to get more funding for levees along the Arkansas River.

Senator Cody Rogers said the current levees are classified as high risk and could collapse if Tulsa got flooded like it did in 2019.

It'd cost about $191 million to reinforce the levees, but Rogers said the flooding could cause more than a billion dollars in damages.

The bill asks for $67 million from the state with federal money footing the rest of the bill.
