Body Cam Footage Released In Norman Standoff

Body camera footage reveals new information on the 12-hour standoff at a Norman home that started October 11.

Body cam video shows Darrin Coker backing out of a home, which he barricaded himself inside last week.

Officers say Coker also threatened and assaulted his two female roommates with a gun. He's facing complaints of threatening an act of violence and pointing a firearm.

1 Person In Custody After Barricading Self Inside Home, Norman Police Say

An armed suspect was taken into custody after barricading themselves inside of a home in southeastern Norman, police say.

Norman Police said the suspect was involved in an assault involving a firearm before fleeing into a residence near 24th Avenue Southeast and East Lindsey Street. In this incident, the suspect pointed a gun at another person but did not fire it. The suspect then barricaded himself inside a home he was renting.

Norman Police said the NPD SWAT Team worked to establish communication with the person inside the residence.

Authorities evacuated the area, breached the home's front door, and took the suspect into custody without incident.
