Pontotoc County Man Sentenced In Child Sexual Abuse Case

A Pontotoc County man has been sentenced to more than 100 months in prison for sexually abusing a child.

A jury convicted Nathan Smith early last month.

Investigators say the abuse lasted for two years.

When the abuse came to light, prosecutors say Smith texted the victim's mother to apologize.

Smith is not eligible for parole.
