Oklahoma Lawmaker Calls On Legislature To Begin Impeachment Process Against Ryan Walters

An Oklahoma state lawmaker is calling on legislative leaders to begin the impeachment process against State Superintendent Ryan Walters.

Democratic Rep. Mickey Dollens said it is "crucial to stop irreversible harm."

Rep. Dollens also said this push for impeachment was due to Walters' "persistent weaponization of his office."

“Any impeachment proceedings on any individual would need to originate in the House. The Senate would serve as a jury. Until there are articles of impeachment brought to the Senate, we won’t be able to comment," the communications director for Senate Pro Tempore Greg Treat said.
