An undercover investigation of a pool hall in northwest Oklahoma City revealed a number of alleged crimes. Police arrested the business owner and another man during a recent raid.
The investigation involving Oklahoma City police and state authorities started with tips from the community. Tipsters alerted police the Cue Pro Pool Hall near northwest 36th and May Avenue was allegedly selling alcohol without a license.
“When undercover officers went inside,” said Msgt. Gary Knight, Oklahoma City Police Department. “They discovered that was indeed going on.”
Police went back to the business on Thursday, but this time they went with Oklahoma ABLE Commission, the Oklahoma City Fire Marshal’s Office, and a search warrant.
“They found cocaine in there and that people had not only been selling it but using cocaine inside the business,” said Knight.
Police arrested the business owner, 44-year-old Hoang Nguyen and 45-year-old Vu Dinh on multiple felony and misdemeanor complaints. The report did not indicate if Dinh was employee or a customer.
Authorities collected drugs, cash, a gun and ammo, a ledger notebook, cell phones and gambling and surveillance equipment.
Police said this was an on-going investigation. The two men arrested have since been released from the Oklahoma County Detention Center and have not been officially charged by the Oklahoma County District Attorney’s Office.
