Tulsa Fire Department Bike Response Team Expands To Turkey Mountain

The Tulsa Fire Department's bicycle response team is now responding to emergencies at Turkey Mountain.

TFD officials say it’s often difficult for people who get lost or injured to explain where they are to 911 operators. They say the bike team will be able to cover more ground and hopefully find victims faster.

“We've worked a lot with the Turkey Mountain group here as well as INCOG and bike club on training as well as trail marking and new trail development so we can find our way around easier," said Dave Weaver with Tulsa Fire.

The fire department says the bike team has already been successful at events like the State Fair and Oktoberfest.
