A Rogers County family’s home is safe, but two other buildings are ruined after a fire early Thursday morning. Firefighters say two storage buildings in the backyard are damaged.

The Limestone and Verdigris fire departments responded to the home north of Highway 20 and east of Keetonville Hill in northeast Owasso. The flames were so big they spread to the top of some of the trees in the backyard and also caught them on fire.

A field next to the house also broke out in flames. Firefighters say the family’s home did not catch fire and they are OK.

The homeowner tells firefighters he had just turned the power on to both of the storage units on Wednesday so that could have been a factor in the fire starting.
