Cherokee Nation Film Office Provides $1 Million Film Incentive

The Cherokee Nation Film Office will provide up to $1 million in annual funding for productions filmed within the tribe's boundaries. In an announcement on January 25, Tribal leaders said they hope the funding creates economic development.

The Cherokee Nation Film Office will provide up to $1 million in annual funding for productions filmed within the tribe's boundaries.

In an announcement on January 25, Tribal leaders said they hope the funding creates economic development.

Leaders said they also hope this will expand career opportunities for Indigenous filmmakers.

The incentive offers a cash rebate for production expenses.

Applications will be open on March 1, 2022.
