Oklahoma City arson investigators are currently at Coolidge Elementary School investigating a fire that was started in the building.
The fire was in a classroom at the school.
Investigators are on scene trying to determine the cause of the fire.
OKCPS tells News 9 that it may have been related to a break in.
OKCPS released the following statement:
“Late Monday evening, OKCFD responded to a fire alarm at Coolidge Elementary. The scene is currently under the oversight of the fire investigator with OKCFD. OKCPS is cooperating with law enforcement and fire officials, as this is an active investigation.
As soon as the OKCPS teams are permitted to enter the scene, the damage will be assessed so cleaning and restoration can take place.
Fortunately, only one classroom has been impacted. The building will be open for staff tomorrow, Tuesday, January 18th. As a reminder, OKCPS students will be learning virtually from home tomorrow.”
This is a developing story.
