Churchgoers are filling up churches again for traditional Christmas Eve services this year despite a surge in COVID-19 Omicron cases.
David Wiggs is the Senior Pastor at Boston Avenue United Methodist Church.
He says last year Boston Avenue was closed to in-person services and did virtual services only.
He says it's great to see the community come together again in person.
"Christmas Eve is one of our biggest attended experiences of worship throughout the year so it's very exciting to be able to have those again this year", said David Wiggs, Senior Pastor, Boston Ave United Methodist,
Holy Family Cathedral and Boston Avenue United Methodist Church are a few of many holding in-person services this year.
"It's Jesus' birthday and it really sets the tone for the rest of the festivities that happen and the masks that are offered and the priest in the community and the beauty of it all it's just overwhelming", said Karen Barrett, Church Goer, Holy Family Cathedral.
