Oklahoma Natural Gas customers will soon see an increase on their next bill.

According to ONG, the average residential customer will see an increase of $1.27 through February 2022.

The Oklahoma Corporation Commission recently approved an agreement to raise the cost for customers, but ONG says credit from the “Tax Cuts and Jobs Act of 2017” will be applied starting in February of next year and will reduce the amount bills go up.

ONG says the tax credit will lower the hike to just 34 cents per billing cycle for each customer.

The increase is expected to impact at least 780,000 residential customers.

ONG officials say the rate increase has nothing to do with February's winter storm. According to ONG, those charges are separate from this one.

Low-income customers could potentially see a smaller increase on their bill, as low as 36 cents.
