Oklahoma is now home to several hundred Afghan Refugees.
Catholic Charities of Eastern Oklahoma said Tulsa has nearly 300 Afghan refugees and expects to eventually have 800.
The White House coordinator who oversees the refugees placement is impressed with Oklahoma.
"I'm here in Oklahoma for a very simple reason, which is that you all are doing it extraordinarily well," said Jack Markell, White House coordinator.
He said the biggest takeaway has been the cooperation between faith groups, veterans, non-profits and the people of Oklahoma to build these refugees a new home.
