CLAREMORE, Oklahoma -

Dave's Claremore RV helped out local animal shelters out when it hosted a pet food drive and pet adoption site Saturday morning.

Anyone who donates a 30-pound or larger bag of pet food will receive either $500 dollars off an RV or 15 percent off the cost of parts.

Food donations can be dropped off anytime during business hours and are limited to only dogs and cats.

All donations will be distributed evenly between Oklahoma Alliance for Animals, Skiatook Paws and Claws and Zoi's Animal Rescue.

Dave's Claremore RV owner Stephanie Pierce said these partnerships are crucial in helping shelters save these animals.

"This is all completely volunteer-based and their foster-based programs, and they rely on donations and help in order to save all these animals," Pierce said. "So, without these kinds of events, they wouldn't be able to do what they do."

Pierce said she loves watching all the dogs but mentioned that she loves seeing them get rescued even more.

"I would take them all home if I could, so to be able to help and know that they'll all get good homes in the end is amazing,” Pierce said. “It's just near and dear to their hearts.”

Felica Foy is owner of Fur-tastic K9s, a stunt dog show which also performed at Saturday’s event.

Her business took a hit during the pandemic but being surrounded by dog lovers has her excited to be back performing.

"We've missed this so much,” Foy said. “It feels so good to be back out performing, putting smiles on people's faces. Everybody's enjoying the show.”

Pet adoptions are only for Saturday but food donations will be accepted for the rest of the month.
