A man is behind bars after firing his weapon at officers on Sunday night, Del City police said. It happened after police responded to a domestic disturbance outside a home near Southeast 29th and Sunnylane.
"We heard about 3 gunshots," said Mason Cooksey, a neighbor. "Then immediately after, (we) heard about 10 to 15 more gunshots."
Del City police said they received a call around 9:30 p.m. Sunday. Dispatchers were told a woman had been shot.
When police arrived on scene, they noticed a male and female inside a parked car.
"And the male inside the car fired a round from inside the car out toward the officer," said Del City police Maj. Brad Rule.
The officer then fired back, but no one was hit.
"It was pretty scary," said Cooksey. "We, at first, did not realize it was gunshots, but as soon as we did, we knew it was serious."
Cooksey said it all happened right outside his front door. When he looked out, he noticed it was his neighbor's car from across the street.
"The door was still open and there was probably six or seven bullet holes in the back of the car," Cooksey said.
Police said Raymond Moya was arrested at the scene. He's being held at the Del City jail and will be taken to the Oklahoma County Detention Center.
The woman was taken to a local hospital and police said she’s expected to be OK. It's uncertain what caused the fight between the two.
Del City police are still investigating this case.
