Officer-Involved Shooting Takes Place After Man Fires Shots At Del City Police

An officer-involved shooting took place after a man fired shots at Del City police late Sunday night.

According to authorities, officers responded to a domestic call at a home near Southeast 23rd Street and South Sunnylane Road just before 10 p.m. Sunday.

When officers arrived, they found a man and a woman parked outside of the home.

Police said when officers approached the vehicle, they noticed that the woman had been shot.

"The male inside the car fired a round from inside the car out towards the officer. At that time our officer returned fire. At this time it doesn't seem like our officer hit anybody," said Major Brad Rule with Del City Police.

There is no word on the woman's condition at this time. At last check, her injured were non-life-threatening.
