A group of students at OU Tulsa got to take out their frustrations on the coronavirus Tuesday.

The physical and occupational therapy students hit a few COVID-19 pinatas as part of a ceremony that replaced a canceled one this past summer. They were encouraged to express their frustrations about pandemic-related cancellations over the past year.

“I think everyone had a moment to get their anger and frustrations out and get ready for the new year and new semester. It was such a fun way to start,” second-year student Courtney Plummer said.

“Usually we’re fairly cerebral in what we do here, and I think they enjoyed the surprise and enjoyed the thoughtfulness that our faculty put behind putting it together,” Carrie Ciro, Department of Rehabilitation Science Chair said.

The pinatas were of course, filled with candy.
