A 102-year-old World War II veteran has been recognized for her decades of public service.

Millie Bailey was raised in Tulsa. She joined the U.S. Women’s Army Auxiliary in 1942 and was honorably discharged four years later.

After working in public service for decades, she retired in 1975 and dedicated her time to raising thousands of dollars for students.

Bailey now has a park named after her in Columbia, Maryland to pay tribute for all she’s done to help others.
