President Trump held a round table with members of law enforcement from around the country at the White House on Monday.
Members of the president cabinet and White House staff were also at the meeting. They discussed how to improve policing and the culture of law enforcement. They also discussed ways to prevent tragedies, such as the death of George Floyd at the hands of police, from happening again.
During his remarks to reporters, President Trump criticized the movement to defund police departments, and the Minneapolis city council's support for disbanding its police force. He warned that cities that try to end their police departments will see a "very sad situation."
