Bush signs economic stimulus package

President Bush signed an economic stimulus package Wednesday afternoon that will send rebate checks to most Americans.

The checks range from $300 to $1,200 and will begin going out in May.

Some economists say they worry the money isn't being issued quickly enough to avoid a possible recession. Meanwhile, members of Congress say they have more ideas if the stimulus package isn't enough.
