OKLAHOMA CITY -- Relief from the heat is something city street crews are hoping to get with a new work schedule, but it means drivers will have to pack some patience in the morning.
Over the next two months, city crews will begin work on roads as early as 6:30 a.m. Crews usually avoid work during the morning rush hour, but officials say it's just too hot anytime else.
"It's something out of the ordinary and thats why we thought it was good to alert the public that they need to understand that we're going to be out there with them," said Oklahoma City Streets Superintendent Mike DeGiacomo.
Crews will be working on the following streets: Sooner Road, SE 74 Street and SW 104 Street.
If you drive these roads, you may want to allow yourself more time.
