Lincoln County Assistant District Attorney Clayton Niemeyer Fired

OKLAHOMA CITY -- NEWS 9 has learned a Lincoln County Assistant District Attorney has been terminated.

District Attorney Richard Smotherman said Assistant D.A. Clayton Niemeyer is no longer with his office, but won't say when Niemeyer was fired nor why.

"I don't discuss personnel matters. All I can tell you is he no longer is working for my office," said Smotherman Tuesday afternoon from his office in Chandler.

Niemeyer was hired in the Lincoln County D.A.'s Office in June 1988 has a grants project monitor and became an assistant district attorney in March 2007.
