OKLAHOMA CITY -- It's not too late to escape the winter doldrums by experiencing performances by Oklahoma City Ballet Saturday and Sunday.
Performances are scheduled for 8 p.m. Saturday and 2 p.m. Sunday, February 12 and 13.
Oklahoma City Ballet is hosting some special events as they celebrate Masters & Moderns with four different ballets by four choreographers on Saturday.
During Kids Kamp, children can try on costumes and learn basic dance movements prior to the matinee performance. Oklahomans have the chance to ask questions and talk with the four choreographers during a lecture at 7 p.m.
Masters & Moderns features George Balanchine's Valse Fantaisie, first created in 1967 and described as a "whirl of perpetual motion." Oklahoma City Ballet is the first company to dance Gerald Arpino's Light Rain outside the Joffrey Ballet.
Two other pieces feature world premiere works by Jessica Lang and a new work from OKC Ballet Artistic Director Robert Mills.
