SPENCER, Oklahoma – A burn pile spread and caused a brush fire which spread close to area homes just northeast of Spencer.
Authorities said some people were burning trash piles in their yard, despite Oklahoma County being under a burn ban.
The fire started near N.E. 55th and Marshall streets. No damage has been reported.
With warm temperatures and higher winds, most of the state is under a high fire danger and 33 counties remain under a burn ban. More information on burn bans from Oklahoma Forestry Services.
