Oklahoma City police have arrested a driver who fled the scene after crashing into an apartment, injuring a 7-year-old girl inside over the weekend.

It happened around 8 p.m. Sunday at the Hefner Hollow Apartments on Lyrewood Lane near Wilshire Boulevard.

According to police, an SUV crashed through the wall of an apartment. A 7-year-old girl who was inside of the apartment was pinned under the vehicle. She sustained serious injuries.

However, instead of helping the trapped and injured child, the driver, later identified as 38-year-old Union Tanyi, fled the scene on foot.

According to police, Tuesday afternoon, Tanyi was arrested and booked into the Oklahoma County jail on complaints of leaving the scene of an injury accident and causing an injury accident while driving without a license. He is being held on $20.000 bond.

The little girl has since been released from the hospital. Police said she is expected to make a full recovery.
