Police have identified three victims from a deadly early morning shooting in the 3800 block of southwest 37th. Two people died and a third was rushed to the hospital for surgery.

Blood stains cover the front yard of the southwest Oklahoma City home where police say three people were shot. Police said someone called 911 around 11:45 p.m. on Sunday.

Shortly after officers arrived they found the youngest victim Erica Bradberry, 15, dead in the front yard. First responders tried to rescue Giovanny Portugal, 26, but he later died at the hospital. The third shooting victim Jassiel Castro, 22, was transported to the hospital and underwent surgery. He is listed in stable condition and is expected to survive.

Police were on the scene for several hours talking to witnesses and piecing together what led to the deadly gunfire.

“We do know there was a gathering out there, “ said Msgt. Gary Knight, Oklahoma City Police Department. “Some type of cookout or gathering in the front of the residence when for whatever reason a fight broke out which led to gunfire and, sadly, two people being killed.”

Police have not made any arrests in this violent shooting. The only description they have at this time is a male in a Dodge pickup was seen driving from the area.

The family of the 26-year-old victim drove in from Texas Monday afternoon after they learned of his passing. They did not say if he lived in the home where the shooting happened or if he was visiting.
