Man killed in shooting at NW OKC apartment identified

A man is dead following a shooting in northwest Oklahoma City Wednesday night, according to police.

A man killed in a shooting Wednesday night in northwest Oklahoma City has been identified, according to police.

Police say the shooting happened at an apartment complex near Northwest 16th Street and North Classen Boulevard.

At this time, police say they do not know if the shooting happened inside or outside the apartment.

Officers say 21-year-old Malik Jashun Wilson was transported to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead, according to police.

Officers stayed on the scene to talk to witnesses for a brief time.

"We're still trying to piece together suspect information," OCPD Lt. Robert Allen said. "We're unsure if they left on foot or in a vehicle. Not sure on the number of suspects yet; like I said, there were people outside, so we're still trying to piece together witness statements and other things."

It is unknown if the victim Wilson at the apartment complex.

There is no suspect information at this time.
