The Bethany Children’s Health Center noticed there weren’t a lot of opportunities for children with disabilities to take part in the tradition of Easter egg hunts.

“Many people don’t realize how a simple childhood tradition can present challenges for children with disabilities or complex medical needs,” said Richard Mills-Tetteh, Chief of Marketing for the hospital. That’s why they created a very special egg hunt. It’s held on their adaptive outdoor field, so children in wheelchairs or with walkers can take part. They also hide eggs in the fencing, so even if a child can’t reach down, they can still get eggs.

The event is about creating lasting memories for the families. The hunt will be for children with special needs or disabilities and their siblings. There will also be games and activities (and prizes!). You do need to register for tickets which are free.

  1. WHEN: Saturday, April 12th 10am-12pm.
  2. The egg hunt for ages 1-5 will start at 10:15am.
  3. The egg hunt for ages 6-12 will start at 11:15am
  4. WHERE: Bethany Children’s Health Center (6800 Northwest 39th Expressway in Bethany) at “Miracle Stadium” which is behind the Gray Family Tower on the corner of Beaver and 37th.
  5. HOW TO REGISTER: Adapted Easter Egg Hunt at Bethany Children's Tickets, Sat, Apr 12, 2025 at 10:00 AM | Eventbrite

This special egg hunt will have empty eggs used and there will be bags of candy available afterwards.
