Winter weather created hazardous driving conditions across Oklahoma, leading to a surge in traffic incidents. As of noon on Wednesday, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol (OHP) reported responding to 116 weather-related calls across the state.

Breakdown of OHP Responses:

  1. 80 non-injury collisions
  2. 8 injury collisions
  3. 24 motorist assists
  4. 3 abandoned vehicles
  5. 1 hit-and-run collision

While road conditions have improved throughout the day, authorities continue to urge caution, as freezing temperatures overnight could lead to refreezing and additional hazards for drivers.

Motorists are advised to slow down, allow extra travel time, and avoid cruise control on slick roads. Stay tuned for further updates as winter weather conditions evolve.
