Rally For Your Rights: Protestors set to gather outside Oklahoma State Capitol

As lawmakers return to the Oklahoma State Capitol on Monday, hundreds of Oklahomans are expected to rally outside the capitol steps.

The organizers of a planned protest on Monday are concerned about several bills they say divide Oklahomans, rather than bridge them together.

Hundreds, if not thousands of Oklahomans are expected to gather for the "Rally for your Rights" protest, with more than a dozen different speakers from across the state set to be a part of the peaceful and organized rally.

Organizers say they are gathering to tell legislators that bills targeting the unhoused, Indigenous, people of color, women, children, and victims of violence are not welcome in Oklahoma.

"It doesn’t matter who you are or where you’re from in Oklahoma," Elizabeth Debo from Organizing Okies said. "If you are an Oklahoman, then we got you because we take care of our own."

Organizers say they are extending an invitation to anyone who wants to join them on the steps of the Oklahoma State Capitol.

The protest begins at 9 a.m. and is expected to run until noon.

Oklahoma Gov. Kevin Stitt is expected to begin his annual State of the State address at 12:45 p.m.
