University of Tulsa graduate quarterback Cooper Legas was named the Associated Press National Player of the Week after leading the Golden Hurricane to a thrilling 46-45 comeback victory over UTSA during Homecoming.
Legas came off the bench to help Tulsa rally from a 35-7 halftime deficit, finishing with 331 passing yards and five touchdowns, along with 46 rushing yards.
He entered the game during Tulsa's first full possession of the second quarter, directing a 75-yard touchdown drive capped by a 31-yard touchdown pass to Bill Jackson, narrowing the score to 20-7.

Late in the third quarter, with the team down 42-17, Legas connected with Kamdyn Benjamin for a 74-yard touchdown.
He was especially strong in the fourth quarter, throwing for 158 yards and three touchdowns.
Legas opened the quarter with a 4-yard touchdown pass to running back Viron Ellison, followed by touchdown passes to Benjamin of 20 and 4 yards in the final 2:26, the latter sealing the victory after Seth Morgan's PAT.
Legas was also named to The American Athletic Conference Player of the Week.
Tulsa will next face UAB on the road at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, November 2
