A local church is gearing up for its annual Horse Camp that combines faith, fellowship, and connection with nature.

Dawn Andrews and Jerry Fish from Mammoth Baptist Church joined News 9 on the Coca-Cola Southwest Beverages Porch to talk about the summer activities they have planned.

They said their horse ministry is for kids from five to teenage. It will teach them how to ride horses and connect them with their faith at the Meeker Round-Up Club.

"It's a way for us to share the love of Jesus through the love of horses," Andrews said.

Fish said seeing kids interact with their horses and teaching them to ride is wonderful and gives them something to connect with.

"It's such a blessing for us, and it's a way to promote our church just a little bit," Fish said.

They said that the camp provides basic riding skills and horse care and valuable lessons in friendship and camaraderie.

"You can't even wipe the smiles off their face when they're leaving, and sometimes they want to stay way longer," Fish said.

Children can preregister on their website. CLICK HERE for more information.
