OCPD Investigating Deadly Shooting

Police said two people were shot in the backyard of a home on the Northwest side. 

Many of the neighbors who live around the house where the shooting occurred have surveillance cameras, and others said they're in the process of installing some. Police are hoping their footage could lead to an arrest or more information on what happened.  

Oklahoma City police responded to shots fired call near Northwest 36th and Penn just before 10 Saturday night. A neighbor said she heard a loud noise but didn't think much of it.  

“I thought it was just another car backfire,” a neighbor said. 

When officers arrived, they found two men, Charles Ingram and Andre Neal, suffering from gunshot wounds in the backyard of a house.  

“One victim was pronounced deceased there on the scene; the other victim was taken by ambulance to an area hospital. He was pronounced deceased after arriving there to the hospital,” OCPD Assistant Public Information Officer Sgt. Dillon Quirk said.  

The neighbor said she was shocked when she opened her door to crime scene tape and flashing lights across from her home.  

“That’s what scared me because things can just land anywhere. You hear so many people getting shot just walking through a house and it's sad,” a neighbor said.  

Police stayed on scene looking for a possible suspect. They brought out their canine officers, a drone and air-one to track down any suspects. 

“We are utilizing evidence collected at the scene, video surveillance footage of the area to see if we can get somebody identified and possibly taken into custody, but right now, no one has been arrested,” Sgt. Dillon Quirk said.  

Police said it's early in the investigation and they're still working to figure out what led up to this. If you have any information, you're asked to call the homicide tip line.
