The Class of 2024 ended high school as COVID-19 began, started college in the thick of the pandemic, and now is getting a shot at a normal senior year.

"I'm excited for senior year and glad everything is back to normal," said OU senior Stone Webber

Webber said experiencing college during the pandemic was a scary time.

He said it's hard to believe how different things are in just three years.

“We just moved my sister into college just two weeks ago. We got to go in the room and help her set it up, but for me I got dropped off with my stuff. The family couldn’t go up until later that day, so it was just me unloading my room on my own,” said Webber.

Webber said the class structure has shifted more virtually as he's never taken an in-person test until this upcoming semester.

Stone added that he feels and sees the discomfort and anxiety inside college classrooms today.

“People are already nervous about coming to college trying new things. When I had my mask on, I could kind of hide but now that stuff is gone, and you can be seen,” said Webber.

Having experienced a socially distanced high school graduation, Webber said he's looking forward to a traditional graduation in May of 2024.
