A recent storm meant the loss of a cow for a local boy.
Ten-year-old Kyler Croney from Minco spent $2,000 to but his first cow. He got a USDA loan for it, was going to track all of its expenses, and do reports on it for 4-H.
The same day he got the cow, July 13th, a storm came through and blew the gate open.
“Almost everyday, looking and looking and looking for it,” said Kyler. “Me, my dad, my grandpa and grandma look around the farm and we can’t find her.”
“I just feel bad. She could have a calf and no one would know. And if it had trouble coming out, she could be out there suffering,” said Kyler. “I just feel bad for her.”
Kyler is hopeful someone will find his 4-H project cow, and if not, he hopes to raise the money to buy a new one.
