Thousands of people in Sand Springs are still without power.

Even though it’s a long road ahead, they know it’s going to take a lot of patience and a lot of hard work. Daniel Henderson has spent two days cleaning up the tree limbs and debris in his yard. He was outside on Sunday for several hours.

"Yesterday, from 5 o'clock in the morning until about 2 o'clock,” said Henderson. "It's pretty crazy. pretty crazy. Lot of work, but it's good work. Something to do. Get out and stuff.”

Henderson is one of the thousands in Sand Springs who are still without power and cleaning up damage from fallen trees, fences, and even smashed ceilings. He says the damage from this storm has been worse than any ice or snowstorm he’s seen.

"Because the wind will crack, most of the limbs down,” said Henderson. “The ice will just freeze it, and eventually fall over. But the wind just took a lot of it down."

Landlords like Angela Spellings say they’ve been doing the best they can when it comes to taking care of their tenants.

"It's not easy, we got a lot of calls coming in, and we're just getting to everybody as fast as we can,” said Spellings. “I just hope they know that each one of us, we just do all we can, as fast as we can. We can just take one house at a time."

Spellings and Henderson say they are proud of the way the people who live in Sand Springs are working together to take care of one another.

"Neighbors across the street will pitch in and help,” said Henderson. “I'm helping my neighbor because this is his tree, so I'm going to cut it and get it all lined up for him."

"It means a lot, for everybody to come together, and stay calm, and help one another, and be neighborly, and just have a good day doing it, and get to know your neighbors," said Spellings.
