A metro teenager was arrested this week after eight people were stabbed in a chaotic nightclub brawl.

A violent fight broke out on Saturday at Bricktown’s Pink Parrot bar.

Crime Stoppers tips helped investigators identify the suspect as 18-year-old Brandon Johnson. The suspect was arrested and booked into the Oklahoma County Detention Center on complaints of assault and battery with a deadly and dangerous weapon.

An arrest warrant was issued a short time after Oklahoma City Police posted pictures of the suspect involved in the knife fight.

“We knew who he was and where he was,” Msgt. Gary Knight with the Oklahoma City Police Department said. “It was just a matter of time before he was going to be captured.”

Police and the U.S. Marshals Task Force took Johnson into custody during a traffic stop in southwest Oklahoma City.

Court documents indicated Johnson was seen on video at the bar holding a knife in his right hand and swinging the weapon.

Johnson was accused of stabbing two men and a woman. One victim was taken to the hospital in critical condition with a stab wound to the neck. Others were hurt by broken bottles or glass on the floor.

Besides the criminal investigation, city and state agencies are now investigating the nightclub for violations.

“So, protocols for checking IDs and checking for weapons don’t appear to have been followed very well,” Capt. Valerie Littlejohn with the Oklahoma City Police Department said

This week, Oklahoma City council members passed an emergency curfew for Bricktown. Anyone under the age of 18 will no longer be allowed to stay in the district past 9 p.m., unless with a parent or guardian.

Police said Johnson has a lengthy juvenile criminal history. His current bond is set at $500,000.
