The Mid-Del Public Schools superintendent has released a statement after shots were fired Tuesday night following a basketball game between Del City and Millwood.

Dr. Rick Cobb with Mid-Del Public Schools released the following statement:

The school confirmed the shooting and said Del City Police are investigating the incident.

Police said there is one victim, who was taken to the hospital by private vehicle, but it's unclear if they were shot.

Del City High School principal Gilliland sent the following statement.

"After the completion of the boys basketball game against Millwood High School, a fight occurred and gunshots were fired inside the field house. The Del City Police Department is onsite and investigating the incident."
"We have made the decision to shift to a virtual learning day for Wednesday, January 18."
