A shooting victim described panic and chaos as gunshots filled a downtown event center.

A woman and three other people were shot Sunday inside the Oklahoma City Farmers Public Market. Oklahoma City police have not made an arrest and said they do not have a good description of the shooter.

A concert at the Farmers Public Market turned into a nightmare for 34-year-old Michelle Coleman. She said on Monday there were two separate events happening in the same building.

“The two events shared the bathroom and there was an altercation between two women going on,” Michelle Coleman, shooting victim, said.

Coleman said one of the women in the fight was swinging a chair, and then she heard a loud bang. She said the gunshot caused the place to go into chaos.

“Yeah, it was absolutely terrifying,” Coleman said. “It was a lot of commotion all at once.”

Coleman said she heard two more gunshots as everyone ran out of the building for safety.

“I pulled my hand off my leg and I was completely bloody,” said Coleman.

She was one of three shooting victims.

“One victim happened to be shot in the neck,” Sgt. Dillon Quirk with the Oklahoma City Police Department said. “Is still listed in critical condition in the hospital currently.”

The bullet that hit Coleman is still lodged in her body but she said she is thankful to be alive. Coleman said three women came to her aid and helped her in the parking lot before police and EMSA arrived.

“Those women saved my life,” Coleman said. “They really kept me calm in that state of mine and I can’t be more thankful. I wish I could find them to tell them how grateful I am for them.”

Police are continuing to investigate who fired the shots, and how they got a gun into the building.

“We all had to be patted down and checked,” Coleman said. “I’m not sure if the other side had to patted down and checked.”

News 9 did call the Farmers Public Market for comment about security procedures for the event center but did not receive a call back.
