Some Early Election Day Showers Across Green Country

Rain will have an impact in parts of Green Country for the first part of Election Day.

News On 6 meteorologist Stephen Nehrenz has ore in Tuesday's weather blog:

Scattered showers and occasional heavy downpours will swing across northeastern Oklahoma through the morning and midday hours on Tuesday, so grab the umbrella if you’re headed to the polls early in the day. Showers will diminish in coverage for the afternoon hours with highs returning to the 70s.

Above-normal warmth will continue to build on Wednesday as south winds continue to increase. We’ll have lows in the 60s Wednesday morning, which is where our highs should be this time of year! Highs will climb to near 80 degrees Wednesday afternoon.

A strong cold front is on the way Thursday, bringing with it a pretty sharp change in seasons. By late Thursday afternoon that front surges into northeastern Oklahoma with gusty north winds. Out ahead of the front, a few scattered storms will be possible from Thursday afternoon into Thursday night.

As the front surges south Thursday night, some mighty chilly air rushes back in for Veterans Day Friday. After springlike warmth this week, highs will struggle to reach 50 degrees from Friday into the weekend, with hard freezes on the way Saturday and Sunday.
